As noted yesterday, our day started before dawn, with Hadarya’s wonderful babysitter/master teacher arriving at our house before 4 AM to take over while we went up to do our part in finding a cure for breast cancer. Hadarya’s day started off fine, but by 1 PM she’d slept for 3 out of the 5 hours she’s been at daycare (that’s a lot, for those of you keeping track at home) AND she threw up when she awoke from her last nap. We got the phone call from the daycare center and made our way back to SDSU to pick her up, at which point she promptly threw up on her mother (referred to elsewhere as My Lovely Wife). We got her home, where she seemed to improve a bit, but after we left her with Grandma and headed back to 3Day camp for dinner, she got sick again, so tomorrow morning I’m staying home with her. We are feeling a bit guilty, and sad/upset that she’s not feeling well, but I am trying to remember that this, too, is part of parenting and a normal childhood.
